Zscaler, a famous IT Security researchers company has recently identified some fake malicious apps which are uploaded by cyber criminals. These malicious apps are infected with an infamous SpyNote RAT (Remote Access Trojan).
It’s a good news that at present time, SpyNote doesn’t exist in Google Play Store. But, researchers at Zscaler have identified several fake third-party apps which are infected with SpyNote.
The names of these fake infected apps as identified by Zscaler are:
Netflix
Whatsapp
YouTube
Video Downloader
Google Update
Instagram
Hack Wifi
AirDroid
WifiHacker
Facebook
Photoshop
SkyTV
Hotstar
Trump Dash
PokemonGo
Among the above-mentioned apps, Zscaler researchers have kept their emphases on fake Netflix app being infected with a new variant of SpyNote RAT.
Shivang Desai of ZScaler stated that :
“The iOS and Android apps for Netflix are enormously popular, effectively turning a mobile device into a television with which users can stream full movies and TV programs anytime, anywhere. “But the apps, with their many millions of users, have captured the attention of the bad actors, too, who are exploiting the popularity of Netflix to spread malware.”

This SpyNote RAT can read text messages, view contacts, turn on the microphone of an infected device and listen to conversations, recording screen, take screenshots, and send user files to a Command & Control (C&C) set up by cyber criminals.

After installing, once the app is tapped to open it shows a blank window and removes itself from the screen tricking users into believing the app has been removed from the devices but actually it runs from the background to carry its malicious attack.

How to be get protected from this SpyNote RAT ?

Very easy, you must avoid downloading android apps from third party apps store. Only download your favourite android apps from Google Play Store.

What I Learnt Today : Pterodactyl was not only the flying dinosaur, There were many image source & credit :  LINK We are all familiar to Pterodactyl, the flying dinosaur. But, actually there existed so many flying dinosaurs. The common name of all this “flying dinosaurs” is Pterosaurs. There are about 130 genus of Pterosaurs existed in the jurassic period. Here I listed some of them — 1. Pterodactyl The Pterodactyls had a couple of very wide wings up to 40 feet long. But, these wings are not similar to modern bird’s wings. There were no feathers , their wings were made of a leathery substance. They lived near the sea in the cave & trees. They ate sea fish, large insects & other small dinosaurs. We found their fossils in Europe, North America, Australia, and Africa. Pterodactyl image source & credit :  LINK Pterodactyl Fossil image source & credit :  LINK 2. My Original Poem : "Under the banyan tree"

An old banyan tree beside my  sweet home, everyday I see.  I take rest in peace  under its cold shadow. sometimes I only sit silently  but, do not feel lonely.  when I touch I feel its affection  I weep for a while remembering my mother’s face. when I was a child thinking and thinking  about my mom I lost her forever.  a cold breeze blows around me  under the banyan tree. Pond is the only source of drinking water in this village. Do you believe ?

It is unbelievable that a pond (locally called Dighi) is the only source of drinking water for the entire village. But, it’s true. West Bengal is a state of India where I live in. Last year when I visited rural area of the southern part of Bengal I found this pond. There are only two arsenic polluted tube-well situated in the village. Around 300 families crowd an open water pond, locally called Dighi, throughout the day. lot of lotus in water [filth on the bank] [a perfect view] [bank of the pond] Tags :   India, Nature, Photography, Travel, Flowers, Flowers & Plants photography, Landscape photography This Post Was Published On My Steemit Blog .  Earned : $09.61 SBD Converted to USD @0.9951$ Rate = $9.5629 USD .  First Time heard about Steemit ?
